Day 2 - Port Douglas Area Exploring

We woke up early our second day in Australia and hopped a plane up to Cairns, in the north tropical region of Queensland, to then travel to Port Douglas.  It was the first time Mindy and I have flown a Virgin airline - kids everywhere on this flight!

The drive from Cairns to Port Douglas took about 1.5 hours.  It was along the most beautiful coast!

After we checked into our hotel, we decided to explore North Queensland!  As we were driving, we thought about how lucky some of our friends (the Walke's) were to have honeymooned in this amazing part of the world!  Then we stumbled upon this funky little ferry that we had to take to cross a crocodile-filled river!

We spent several hours exploring the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.  What amazing places.  The Aussie's do such and awesome job of protecting their natural assets with great national parks!

As night came, we drove to the Sheraton Mirage Resort for our two night stay.  We happened across a few more awesome beach spots at dusk.  An amazing travel day!
